Opportunities
We are always interested in hearing from motivated students and researchers whose interests align with our work on disaster risk, infrastructure resilience, probabilistic modeling, scientific AI, and decision-making under uncertainty.
Ph.D. Students
Prospective Ph.D. students should apply directly to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Ph.D. program at UC Berkeley. Applicants should review the department’s official admissions requirements, application instructions, deadlines, and program-specific prerequisites before applying. If your research interests strongly overlap with the lab, you may also email Prof. Ceferino with your CV and a brief description of your research interests and how they connect with the group’s work.
Postdoctoral Researchers
Postdoctoral opportunities depend on available funding and project needs. Researchers with backgrounds in structural engineering, infrastructure systems, uncertainty quantification, scientific computing, machine learning, or disaster resilience are encouraged to reach out when relevant opportunities are posted.
Undergraduate and Master’s Students
UC Berkeley undergraduate and Master’s students interested in research may contact the lab with a short description of their background, research interests, and relevant technical skills. Opportunities vary by semester and project availability.
Visiting Researchers
We occasionally host visiting students and researchers whose work closely aligns with ongoing projects in the lab. Prospective visitors should include a CV, proposed research topic, expected visit period, and information about funding support.
